Impact India Minisries works with local people to address the long-term devestation of the Indian Tsunami. The Tsunami left many widows without their families, an income or even a home. IIM have stepped in to provide a small monthly pension for these woman and have now opened a training school for them to learn a textile trade. The school provides all their tools, materials, professional training and a recognised qualification. IIM also run a day-care centre to provide child-care for these woman as they train and work, so that they are free to work themselves out of their new-found devastation. IIM has grown out of Cutting Edge Developments, an Irish Charity working already working in Chennai, India, providing care and schooling for children with severe dissabilities and children from the slums.
