Gardening the City

Organisation: Jacob’s Well Ministry

Gardening is a central part to community life in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver.  We have two community gardens where we grow both plants and produce.  We work in the gardens with volunteers and invite neighbours to get involved. Jacob's Well has a unique approach to doing life with residents of their neighbourhood, many of whom struggle with drug and alcohol addictions as well as mental illness. Through this project we can come alongside residents, support them and  provide them with a thereputic outlet. You can allow this project to run for a week!
